| • What will it cost to check for a transmission problem? We provide at no charge a thorough external diagnostic whether or not we do your repair. • How long will the free diagnostic testing take? It will take approximately 30 minutes to complete our thorough external diagnosis. Our diagnostic testing includes a test drive; computer scan and external inspection while vehicle is on the lift and inspection of the transmission fluid level and condition. • What if I need a new transmission? How much will it cost? It is not likely that you will need a new transmission and this is a cost benefit to you. There can be as many as 500 parts in a transmission depending on the vehicle. Therefore, it is a rare situation that all of the parts are damaged. It is less expensive to rebuild, replacing only the damaged parts, rather than replacing the entire transmission.. The amount of damage done to your transmission determines the price. |
| • Can I just tell you what my car is doing and get a price over the phone? Our extensive experience means we know that the description of one symptom can be the result of several different problems. Though a problem may seem to be a major one by symptom, it may actually be a minor one. Unless we have performed a free external diagnostics of the vehicle we will not be able to give you an accurate diagnosis; without an accurate diagnosis we will not be able to give an accurate price. • If I have my car towed and cannot get there right away will you call me before repairing it? We will only complete the free diagnosis. We will not begin repair on your vehicle until we have given you an exact cost and you have given us authorization for the repair. • Can I wait to have my car repaired? It is NOT recommended that you continue to drive a vehicle with a suspected or known transmission problem. The more you drive the damaged vehicle the more extensive the damage will become. The more parts that are damaged will directly impact the cost of the repair. • Do I need to make an appointment to have my transmission inspected?
